Duke of Edinburgh - Open Silver Expendition 2025

The Education People are excited to offer participants undertaking their Silver DofE Award the opportunity to undertake their DofE Expedition Training and Expeditions with us during 2025.

Our Silver Expedition Package consists of two events: -

·           Training / Practice Expedition
This will be a three-day event. Participants will spend the first day at the Base campsite undertaking the training required for the expedition section. Days 2 and 3 will see participants undertaking a two-day Practice Expedition.

·           Assessed Expedition
This will be a three-day event. Participants will undertake a three-day expedition during which they will be assessed to ensure they meet the conditions of the Silver Expedition section.

We are offering the following dates for both Practice and Assessed expeditions during 2025: -

·         7th – 9th April 2025

·         19th – 21st July 2025

·         26th – 28th July 2025

·         30th July – 1st August 2025

·         18th – 20th August 2025

·         20th – 22nd October 2025

All expeditions will be based in the Ashdown Forest Area and the Expedition base will be Adamswell Scout Campsite, Broom Lane, Langton Green, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN3 9JL.

For those participants who want to complete back-to-back Practice and Assessed expeditions, we have the option of doing your practice 26th – 28th July and then Assessed 30th July – 1st August. We have deliberately built in a rest day to give participants a free day on 31st July to prepare themselves for their assessed expedition.

The cost of each event is £150 per participant. Expedition kit is available to borrow at no extra cost.

Please note that these are OPEN expeditions and each event is subject to a minimum number of applications being received.

Where groups of friends apply together, we will do our best to ensure they are in an expedition team together. If you wish to request this, please e-mail us at dofe@theeducationpeople.org to provide details of who you would like to be with and we will note your request.
